Jimmy and David founded Pinnacle Benefits Group with a shared vision — to make insurance more personal, transparent, and easy to navigate. Their combined experience and client-first approach help individuals, families, and businesses make confident benefit decisions with clarity and trust.

David

Founder / Advisor

David Gibson brings over 25 years of experience in Medicare, life, and health insurance brokerage and agency leadership. Licensed in more than a dozen states across the country, David is a trusted resource—not only for his clients but also for financial advisors, tax professionals, and attorneys who rely on his specialized knowledge to help guide their own customers. He works with multiple insurance companies to provide Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage solutions tailored to each individual's needs.

David understands that navigating healthcare decisions can feel overwhelming. He frequently hears that Medicare is difficult to understand because of the many options, opinions, and information available. Because every individual's healthcare needs are unique, David believes Medicare should never be approached as a one-size-fits-all solution.

David provides personalized guidance every step of the way. His guiding principle for clients is simple: "Call me, not your insurance carrier." Whether you're facing a claims question, a billing issue, or simply need help understanding your coverage, David serves as your dedicated advocate—providing the personal support and service clients deserve.

David lives in Charlotte with his wife Stephanie and two daughters, Rollins and Foster, and dogs, Fisher and Stella. In their spare time they enjoy hiking, traveling, and being outside.

Jimmy

Founder / Benefits Advisor

Based in Wilmington, North Carolina, Jimmy Wright brings over 20 years of specialized experience in employee benefits to small business owners and HR administrators across the state. After graduating from UNCW, Jimmy co-founded his journey at Pinnacle Benefits Group alongside David, establishing the business on one simple truth: service comes first.

Jimmy works with all major carriers in North Carolina—including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare—to design tailored benefits strategies that fit each company’s culture and budget. He firmly believes that small teams deserve high-level benefits, helping small businesses build benefits packages that are both comprehensive and cost-effective. Understanding that healthcare is a major investment, Jimmy takes a holistic approach—incorporating health, dental, vision, life, and disability income coverage to maximize client return on investment.

Finding a broker who takes the time to truly listen can be difficult, but Jimmy guarantees dedicated, one-on-one attention for every client. Whether conducting an initial strategy call or meeting directly at a client’s workplace, he focuses on understanding company goals before diving into plan designs.

Originally from Winston-Salem, Jimmy has lived in Southeastern North Carolina since 1994. When he's not working with clients, you'll likely find him practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, saltwater fly fishing, or hunting with his squirrel dog. Jimmy and his wife, Pam, live in Wilmington and enjoy supporting their two sons, James and Colin, as they compete in wrestling at Hoggard High School.
